Richard A. Bodian - PT, Cert MDT., Director of Rehabilitation
The owner and Director of Rehabilitation Richard A. Bodian, is a licensed physical therapist, graduating from the New York University, School of Physical Therapy in 1993. He further received advanced training in McKenzie Certified procedures and specializes in sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation.
Richard has almost 16 years of clinical experience as he began his career as a therapist in 1993 at Healthworks in Brooklyn. He continued working there until 1998, when he decided he wanted to create a more personal "one on one" environment with his patients and give them the best quality care they needed. As a result, he opened the first One on One facility in Brooklyn. Soon after, three other One on One facilities opened within the Brooklyn and Staten Island area.
In addition to ongoing physical therapy services and rehabilitation, One on One provides occupational therapy, athletic training, homecare services, and takes an active part in supporting the community.
Richard has provided the best quality service to the Brooklyn and Staten Island area for 10 years, and has established himself amongst the areas medical professionals and surrounding community, as one of the most well respected physical therapy providers in the area. |

Joe Saraceno , Regional Director of Rehabilitation , received his Physical Therapy Degree from New York University in 1998. Prior to his studies at NYU he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Fordham University in 1993.
In 2000 , Joe joined forces with Richard Bodian to help him bring One on One Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation to the masses. The expansion began, but the vision of quality care with a personal touch remained the same.
As Director of Rehabilitation, Joe stresses the importance of continuing education to his staff in order to assure that One on One patients receive the highest quality of therapy from the most qualified experts in the area. As an active Physical Therapist he leads by example , offering compassionate care to his patients in need.
In addition to being one of the top physical therapists in the area, Joe is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist . He applies this certification in his work with local athletes instructing them in how to maximize their performance and prevent injuries. He provides this service as a member of the training staff for the One on One Sports Performance Training Program in the New Springville location.
The One on One team has given a number of seminars to local youth organizations, teams and sports leagues in order to educate the community about injury prevention and proper training techniques.
In 2008 he became a Titlieist Performance Institute certified Golf Fitness Instructor.
Joe continues to do clinical research in the study of human movement patterns in order to better serve his patients. |

Stephen is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo with a degree in Exercise Science /Athletic Training. He received his Master's Degree in Physical therapy from SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn. He has 15 years of clinical experience and holds several professional certifications as an Athletic Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Performance Enhancement Specialist and a Corrective Exercise Specialist. He served as head athletic trainer for the Staten Island Vipers, a Division A professional soccer team from 1997-1999. He has worked as an Athletic Trainer for several High School football teams in the Staten Island/ Brooklyn area for the last 15 years. He served as the Head Athletic Trainer/ Physical Therapist for the NYPD football team from 2007-2009. Steve is the Director of Physical Therapy and Sports Performance Training in Staten Island. He is also the Director of Athletic training services for the local high school and youth programs on Staten Island. He works in the rehabilitation and strength training of many adolescent athletes, high school and college athletes, and several professional athletes of MLB and NFL. As a Physical Therapist, he specializes in musculoskeletal evaluations and evaluating functional human movements. He utilizes manual therapy and takes a functional approach to rehabilitation and training, restoring and strengthening movement patterns used in sports and everyday life functions. He understands how the body moves functionally and can detect and correct poor movement patterns that can lead to injury and poor athletic performance. Steve is also a certified yoga instructor and knows that body in balance is the key to health. Steve has combined his knowledge of physical therapy and sports rehab with his experience as a strength and conditioning coach and yoga practitioner/ instructor and has developed the most comprehensive performance and fitness program around. It is a thorough full body balanced program that creates the complete athlete or individual. The Positive Impact Program emphasizes improving human movement through various mobility, flexibility and dynamic postures and poses. It develops the foundation of core stability that enables the production of strength and power necessary to enhance athletic performance and overall health and fitness. Sal graduated from Brooklyn College with a degree in Athletic Training and Sports Rehabilitation. Sal has been employed at One On One since 1999. During this time Sal has become an intricate part of our athletic training team providing coverage for local high schools and colleges, as well as strength and conditioning guidance to the patients within the clinic.
In 2001 Sal became the Director of the One On One Marketing team covering Brooklyn and Midtown Manhattan. The relationship he forged through his time in the clinic has proven to be a stepping-stone with many of the area physicians. He has developed clinical check systems working as a mediator between the therapist and physician, ensuring that all evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries are delivered in a timely fashion. Through his efforts Sal has added to the quality of care by seeing that the treatment plans designed are in accordance with the recommendations of the patient's physician.

Frank graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University. He later received his Master's degree in Physical Therapy from the College of Staten Island. Frank specializes in sports performance training, concentrating on plyometrics and speed development. He is currently pursuing certification as a strength and conditioning specialist. |

James graduated from the University of Sciences in Philadelphia with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy and a Bachelors Degree in Health Science. In addition to his studies at USP, James was a 4 year member of the USP Collegiate Tennis Team . He has been a New York State Board Certified Physical Therapist since 2003 and has 8 years of clinical experience in Sports Orthopedic Physical Therapy. James acquired the prestigious Orthopedic Certified Specialist Certification (OCS) in May 2010 through the American Physical Therapy Association. James examines his patients from a musculoskeletal point of view , determining tissue specific diagnosis and analyzing functional movement. From this examination, evidence , evidence based interventions are prescribed to correct muscle imbalances, abolish pain, and improve functional movement patterns.
Through the years, James has developed an outstanding reputation in Brooklyn and Staten Island for his clinical skills and patient care. He continues to strive to be one of the most respected in his field by educating himself on the most current clinical techniques and procedures.

Giovanni graduated from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and later obtained his master's Degree in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College. Over the past 13 years he has worked with many New York High Schools and Colleges providing his services as a licensed Physical Therapist and trainer. Giovanni continues to work with Semiprofessional football and basketball teams in New York and is currently the head trainer for St Joseph by the Sea football team. Giovanni also works directly with the NYPD football team, providing his expertise with the evaluation and treatment of their injuries. Specialized in the prevention and rehabilitation of various athletic injuries, Giovanni is an asset to the One On One team.

Julio Cesar Flores is a Physical Therapist Assistant, Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and Certified Athletic Trainer at One On One where he works in conjunction with Physical Therapists to bring a teamwork approach to rehabilitation. Julio plays a vital role in the rehabilitation team with his vast knowledge of strength and conditioning. He is certified and licensed in New York State.
Julio specializes in athletic injuries, after earning his Bachelor of Science Degree from Brooklyn College. With 10 years of experience in the clinical field, he has worked with all diversities of neurological and orthopedic injuries and currently heads the High School Outreach Program that educates parents, coaches, and athletes in regard to injury prevention, first aid, nutrition and rehabilitation. As an athlete himself, he has won the Tri-State and Northeast Regional kickboxing championships for the K.I.C.K. Federation. This experience gives him first-hand knowledge of athlete physiology. |

Stephanie is a graduate of Iona College with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a concentration in Physical Therapy. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). Health and wellness, sports and fitness, as well as fundraising for different charities and educating the community are all a part of her passion. Stephanie has a strong background working with Broadway dancers and utilizing Pilates for Physical Therapy Rehabilitation, having worked side by side with Broadway Theater choreographers and Pilates’ masters. In 2006, after extensively practicing Pilates for 3 years, Stephanie became a Certified Pilates Instructor through the Power Pilates organization. In 2009, while carrying on her journey to learn and explore further skills to continue to provide quality care to her patients and clients, Stephanie became a Certified Yoga Instructor through YogaFit. Stephanie has created her own successful Health and Fitness Program at the One On One offices in Staten Island consisting of Pilates, Yoga, and Yogalates classes for adults, physical therapy patients, and athletes. Her most recent accomplishment in the health and fitness field was becoming a Certified Zumba Instructor through Zumba Fitness. Currently, Stephanie finds much success treating patients with a functional approach, utilizing her extensive orthopedic manual therapy skills, incorporating the principles of Pilates and Yoga to help individuals return to their prior level of function, as well as directing and teaching all of the Pilates / Yoga / Yogalates classes given in the Staten Island offices. She is currently pursuing her certification in Pilates Apparatus training, as well as certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She also continues to explore her interest in Pre/Post Natal exercise certification. |

Michael is a graduate of New York University where he majored as a Physical Therapy Assistant. With dual credentialing as a certified personal trainer, Michael is a valuable asset to the One On One clinical staff. He has also worked as the Director of Physical Therapy for the Kingsborough College PTA program in Brooklyn. Versed in many languages including Spanish, Italian and Hebrew, and Yiddish. Michael's multilinguistics have opened the door for the facility to provide seamless quality care to much of our surrounding community. His areas of specialization include general orthopedics and pediatric care. He has currently attained a dual Master's Degree in Early Chjildhood/ Special Education which will have a strong influence on his proficiency as a clinician with pediatric caseloads. |

As clinical coordinator of One On One Physical Therapy, Jesse has developed the clinical affiliation program for students of Physical Therapy throughout the Northeast region. He is responsible for introducing students to the clinical aspects of the profession and preparing them for professional status. Mr. Simon attended Gettysburg College where he studied Health & Exercise Science. He then spent three years in Aberdeen Scotland at Robert Gordon University where he received an Honors Degree in Physical Therapy in 1997. He learned a more hands on approach under Maitland Techniques as well as learning new cultural aspects of rehabilitation in another society. Mr. Simon is experienced in both neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation. |

A graduate of Elizabethtown College, Tara has been working as an occupational therapist since 1998. She began her career at Montefiore Medical Center, where she gained experience in various specialties of therapy including, vascular, pediatric and orthopedic injuries. In the fall of 2001, Tara began working at One on One in order to pursue her interest in outpatient hand and upper extremity therapy. Here, Tara treats a variety of upper extremity conditions ranging from arthritis to complicated injures and surgeries.In the fall of 2005, Tara earned her Certification in Hand Therapy (CHT). This credential offers assurance to clients and surgeons, that a therapist has achieved the highest level of competency in the profession and stays up to date with practice within the field. |

He later went on to receive his Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from Queens University. Mr. Thomas has been providing therapy services to the Brooklyn area for over 20 years. He has worked in all aspects of the therapy field including home care, hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient facility settings. Mr. Thomas has an extensive background in the treatment of neurological disorders, as well as general orthopedics. |

Mikhail Rubinshteyn- PT, DPT

Mikhail Rubinshteyn received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from City University of New York Graduate Center as part of its inaugural DPT class at College of Staten Island. Mikhail has completed two affiliations in short and long term rehabilitations respectively, where he received experience with neurological and traumatic brain injury patients. He, was an affiliate at New York Presbyterian Weil Cornel Medical Center in cardiac care unit with emphasis on post surgical cardiac care in and out of intensive care units. Lastly, he was an intern at One on One Sports Physical Therapy where he was under guidance from Joe Saraceno, PT and Steve Barth, PT. Previously, Mikhail worked at Lutheran Medical Center as an inpatient Physical Therapist. There, post surgical, trauma and orthopedic patients were the emphasis of care . |

Joanne is a graduate of Hofstra University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology. She then went on to obtain her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College in 2002. Immediately upon graduating from NYMC, Joanne obtained her license and began her career as a Physical Therapist at One On One. In 2006, she became the director of One On One's flagship location in Starrett City, Brooklyn. She has grown with One On One, gaining nearly 10 years of experience in orthopedic rehabilitation. She has also recieved training in the McKenzie treatment techniques of spinal disorders. In addition to being a director and full time therapist, Joanne also served as the clinical coordinator, responsible for placing and supervising students from a number of physical therapy programs throughout the area. |

Annette C. Abbate PT, DPT
Annette (Annie) Abbate graduated from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in 2011 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Bachelor’s in Health Science. A lifetime athlete, Annie played high level sports and NCAA Division II Softball at USP. Annie’s clinical interests include treating neuromusculoskeletal conditions and post surgical patients. She enjoys treating a variety of diagnoses but particularly enjoys treating the student-athlete as well. Annie is also interested in treating children on the Autism Spectrum and Sensory Processing Disorders using a sensory integration framework. Annie has plans to further her clinical training in the McKenzie method, as well as become a clinical specialist in orthopedics and pediatrics.

Diane O'Friel - Director of Administration top of page Diane is a graduate of St. John's University with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications/Business. Diane brings to One On One over 20 years experience in the management and marketing aspects of Physical Therapy. Her experience includes management of private practice centers, Regional Manager of New York and New Jersey for a publicly traded rehabilitation corporation, as well as the Marketing Director of New York for a Fortune 500 company.
Diane has continued to expand her management skills through constant continuing education seminars. She has been recognized with several awards including overall excellence in Administration. As Director of Administration for One On One, Diane handles the overall management for all centers and supervision of the One On One Marketing and billing departments. She works in conjunction with the Directors of Rehabilitation and Marketing to ensure each department works together providing a seamless quality of care for our patients. |

He has been an employee of One on One P.T. since 2002 working in all areas of the facility while completing his Masters Degree in Physical Therapy at SUNY Downstate. Anthony is currently working towards his certification in strength and conditioning, and becoming a certified McKenzie clinician to specialize in treatment of spinal disorders. Melissa is a proud licensed Physical Therapist with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from CUNY’s College of Staten Island/Graduate Center in 2010. During her studies, she was an intern with Volunteers of America where she gained experience and knowledge in treating children between the ages of 3-5 years old who presented with developmental delays. Through an acute-care affiliation at the world renowned Hospital for Special Surgery located in Manhattan , Melissa was privileged to work with post-surgical orthopedic patients, primarily total hip and knee replacements. , Melissa has accepted a part time position at her alma mater as an Assistant Adjunct Professor within the Physical Therapy program teaching a neurological intervention lab class. Outside of her professional career, Melissa has been coaching girls basketball at various levels since 2004. In 2008, she returned to her High School roots of St. John Villa Academy to join their athletic program, where she continues to assistant coach the JV basketball team. Melissa plans to continue to expand her knowledge, skills, and involvement within the community so that she may continue to provide the best care for all of her patients. |

is a leader in her community and in her field. Rachel is an educator, a mentor, an expert and an inspiring force. She is a Certified Nutritional Counselor and a member of the Association of Drugless Practitioners. Rachel began in the health and fitness field by becoming a Certified Yoga Instructor through the City University of New York and has continued her professional practice since 2007. She has since taught yoga for the students at the esteemed Yoga Society of New York, as well the YMCA and College of Staten Island. In 2008, Rachel served as Chef and the Coordinator of Dining Services at Ananda Ashram, a retreat center offering higher education into the eastern arts. Recently, Rachel was featured in the Staten Island Advance for the brand new fitness class she designed.
Rachel is committed to spreading awareness about holistic living. She believes that physical diet and nutrition are inextricably linked to lifestyle and state of mind, and directs treatments from this foundation. Her passion is geared towards promoting healthy communities through healthy individuals.
Currently, she is practicing holistic health and nutritional counseling as a staff member of One-On-One Physical Therapy, a company serving Staten Island and Brooklyn from 10 centers across the two boroughs. Rachel works with people in individual and group capacities. She offers programs that are designed to create permanent, positive changes in the life of her clients. Programs available are tailored specifically to the individual and are meant to work in a preventative and restorative manner. Areas of specialty include holistic weight loss, digestive issues, women’s issues, and anti-aging. |
